Walnut Dreadnought (Sold)
This dreadnought features a nicely figured Bearclaw Adirondack Spruce top with Walnut sides and back. The neck is mahogany with ebony head plates front and back. It has forward shifted torrified spruce bracing that is nicely scalloped. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony, and it has EVO Gold Frets. The Tuners are made by Waverly with Ebony buttons that match the bridge pins and strap button. The bindings are ivoriod.
Finally, it’s finished with French polished shellac. Though not a finish traditionally found on steel string guitars, it is a finish that classical guitarists value for its aesthetic and tonal qualities. It is extremely thin, so that it doesn’t restrict the resonance of the guitar, and will not check or crack like lacquer. It is not quite as durable as a traditional lacquer finish, it is, however, easily repaired as the new finish will bond with the old. I also value its natural ingredients because I can apply the shellac without ruining my health.
Please feel free to contact me with more specific questions.
